Elevated Luxury with a View: The Contemporary Grandeur of Ikos Dassia

On the sunlit shores of Corfu’s east coast lies a resort that redefines scale and splendour. Ikos Dassia is not merely a holiday destination. It is a statement. Where other resorts aim for comfort, Dassia reaches for brilliance. It is the flagship of the Ikos collection in every sense, offering more choice, more style, and more architectural drama than its siblings. If Ikos Olivia is quiet elegance, Dassia is contemporary majesty.

This is a resort for those who enjoy the best of both worlds. It offers the elegance and precision we have come to expect from Ikos, but delivers it with striking scale and a confident sense of place.

The Deluxe Experience: Elevated and Exclusive

We stayed in a Deluxe Junior Suite with Private Pool, located in the Sea building with panoramic views over the Ionian Sea. The suite itself was sleek, bright and finished in tones that mirrored the surrounding water. Our pool, set just above the beach, gave us the rare pleasure of complete privacy alongside the thrill of uninterrupted views. Each morning began with fresh espresso and chilled Champagne as Corfu shimmered in the distance.

The Deluxe Collection at Dassia is every bit as considered as at Olivia, yet here it feels even more elevated. Guests benefit from priority dining reservations, premium wines, a dedicated concierge, an exclusive area of the beach, and a sense of calm amid the resort’s grandeur. Everything was flawlessly delivered. The sense of being cocooned within a larger resort never wavered.

Gastronomy on a Grand Scale

Dassia sets itself apart with ten restaurants and six bars, offering the most diverse culinary experience in the Ikos portfolio. And yet, despite the abundance, quality remains the unwavering focus. We enjoyed à la carte dinners designed by Michelin star chefs, each paired with wines from a cellar that rivals the finest European collections. From the refined French classics at Provence to the rich Asian fusion at Anaya, every meal was crafted with care.

Our candlelit dinner on the beach, exclusive to Deluxe guests, was a flawless orchestration. A private table, Champagne on arrival, soft waves as our soundtrack, and a bespoke five course menu that rivalled any fine dining restaurant. The setting felt even more cinematic than Olivia, thanks to the wide stretch of Dassia Bay and the deep pink Corfu sunsets.

What makes Dassia stand out is its sheer variety. The Dine Out programme allowed us to sample local Corfiot cuisine in carefully selected restaurants beyond the resort, offering a perfect contrast to the polish of the in house dining.

Service with a Signature Touch

The service at Dassia is exceptional, though with a slightly more formal polish than Olivia’s quiet warmth. Here, staff glide rather than walk. Nothing is forgotten. Every poolside drink, every last minute request, every complex dinner reservation was handled with flawless timing and discretion.

Our Deluxe concierge checked in each day, made proactive recommendations, and arranged our spa appointments, which at Dassia are in a separate wing of refined calm, designed for privacy and silence.

Design and Atmosphere: Where Scale Meets Serenity

The architectural layout of Dassia is what truly sets it apart. The resort is divided between two buildings, Sea and Sky, each offering a distinct experience. Sky is modern and dynamic, while Sea offers a slightly more traditional luxury. Both are connected by tree lined paths and electric buggies that glide silently through the resort.

The views here are extraordinary. Olivia may have the olive groves and quiet beaches, but Dassia has the open expanse of Corfu Bay, the mountainous Albanian coastline in the distance, and an almost cinematic horizon at dusk. The infinity pools reflect the sky, and everything feels expansive and beautifully choreographed.

For those who enjoy elegant space, Dassia is unparalleled within the Ikos group.

Wellness and Activities

The Ikos Spa by Anne Semonin at Dassia is striking in design and detail. White marble, soft lighting, and rooms that invite stillness. Our treatments were exceptional, with therapists that balanced technical skill with a real sense of care.

Activities are abundant but never imposed. We dipped into yoga, paddleboarding, and tennis, and even took out a Mini convertible for a morning drive through Corfu’s hilltop villages, all complimentary through the resort. It is these thoughtful extras that elevate Dassia. You are not just staying. You are exploring, tasting, and living beautifully.

Why Dassia is Unique Within Ikos

Where Olivia offers intimacy, Dassia offers grandeur. Where Oceania offers tradition, Dassia offers modernity. Among them all, Dassia is the resort that feels closest to a private island within a grand hotel.

It is also the only Ikos resort with such an extensive spa complex, multiple towers with distinct design language, and ten restaurants on site. For those who want the Ikos service model but crave more variety and more ambition, Dassia is the one.

The Verdict

Ikos Dassia is for the seasoned traveller who wants it all. Service that flows seamlessly. Dining that rivals Michelin establishments. A private pool with Champagne on ice. A candlelit dinner under the stars. And the feeling that everything has been curated entirely around you.

Among the Ikos resorts, Dassia is one that astonishes. Not because it tries to impress, but because it does so without effort. For those who are used to the very best, it is simply the natural choice.
